Bucket List; 30 before 30!

Hello my lovelies, welcome back to itsjustabbsxo!

Wow, I turned 23 on 1st September (such a lovely birthday spent with family) but when I woke up, all I could think was, I haven’t done anything yet…. I haven’t ticked a single thing off my bucket list yet. Not one single thing! I’ve been saying I am going to get a tattoo this year, for the past three years and have I done it? Pfft, not a chance. It got me thinking, instead of just writing a bucket list and hoping that one day I will manage to cross off the items, why don’t I challenge myself to complete thirty things before I turn thirty! I have seven years to get these tasks ticked off and boy am I determined. Now, I think some of these items are definitely more achievable than others but nevertheless, it has to be done. I mean, I’ve put it out on the internet now, no backing out of this one Abigail!

I am determined to make my life a wonderful adventure filled with love, laughter and endless happiness. I am no longer going to make excuses, I will say yes to opportunities (within reason of course), I will push myself and I will get these tasks ticked off!! I want to see the world and explore everything it has to offer. There is so much possibility in the world, why not use that to our advantage and just do it. I want to do everything and anything; dancing in the rain, skinny dipping in the ocean, swim with pigs in the Bahamas (ok long shot but you know what I mean!)

I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know what hand you’re gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you… to make each day count.

Enough with the rambling Abigail, get to the juicy part… the reason everyone is reading this post! Here you have it, my 30 things to do before I turn 30!!

  1. Complete a skydive
  2. Learn to speak Korean
  3. Learn to scuba dive
  4. Go to Bali and get a photograph on the largest swing
  5. Eat a croissant in front of the Eiffel Tower, Paris.
  6. Complete a mud run for charity
  7. Swim with sharks
  8. Learn how to roller-skate
  9. Helicopter ride through London
  10. Learn how to surf
  11. Write a cookbook
  12. Travel around the UK
  13. Road trip around south America
  14. Learn how to ride a horse
  15. Do a safari trip in Africa
  16. Walk the Great Wall of China
  17. See the Northern Lights
  18. Get a tattoo
  19. Eat Sushi in Japan with my Dad
  20. Visit Iceland
  21. Shower in a waterfall
  22. Feed an elephant
  23. Swim with turtles
  24. Visit Tonga
  25. Explore Canada
  26. Visit an elephant sanctuary
  27. Volunteer at a local animal shelter
  28. Trek the Inca Trail
  29. Attend the Day of The Dead Festival in Mexico
  30. Reach over 1000 followers on my blog

So, I know things like ‘running the mud run’ may seem like a very simple thing but let me tell you, I am so incredibily unfit its a joke. I think of running now and it makes me want to throw up. So why not add it to my bucket list? I may not be able to do it right now but no one is stopping me from completing it in five years time. Hey, speaking of ‘no one is stopping me’, this is something my mother always tells me. “The only person standing in your way, is you” I truly hear this now, and I see that it really is me that is the issue. I am the one not pushing myself to do these things, I am the one chickening out on the tattoo and booking a sky dive! The time has come for that to change, I am going to live my life to fullest and make every day count.

I am ready to take on the challenge of these items and I cannot wait to tick them off this list. Every time I successfully complete a task on the list, I will highlight the task and include a photograph on this post! I can’t wait to share my journey with all of you.

What is one thing that is on your bucket list?

Until next time,

  1. I love this list! I’ve got two years left before 30 and there’s tons I want to do. I love that most of yours are travel related. Hopefully COVID will hurry up so we can all get back to travelling again 🙂

  2. These are great! I have completed a few of these: skydive, swim with turtles, stand under a waterfall, and quite a few of the others are on my bucket list still, like see the northern lights, visit Iceland, see the great wall of China. Love the list hope you get to do each and every one of them!

  3. This list is incredible!! So many stunning places. I have a life bucket list but nothing age related, should probably do one of these for myself. When I first started running I always said I wanted to do the London Marathon before 30, but securing a place is really hard! I’m glad you had a nice birthday x

  4. Belated Happy Birthday wishes! That’s quite a bucket list, some wonderful goals on there. Mexico’s Day of the Dead is on my travel bucket list too. And as a horse rider of many years, I can confirm it is THE most wonderful activity, you will love it! x

  5. Hi Abbs. What a great list – you are going to be busy! Do you have them all scheduled in some sort of bucket list 7-year calendar? How much Korean are you planning to learn – say hello, order a drink, have a short conversation, or spend a whole day speaking only Korean? What sort of tattoo are you thinking of?
