A night at the ballet

Hello lovelies, welcome back to itsjustabbsxo!

29th October marks the evening I went to the ballet with my mum to see The Nutcracker – one word. WOW.

The Nutcracker was performed by The Russian State Ballet, I couldn’t believe how amazing they were. The Russian National Ballet is a family run company that focuses on bringing the best ballet productions to the British audiences. They have over 10 years of exeperience and specialise in Russian Classical Ballets.

The Christmas story is based on The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, written by E.T.A Hoffmann, it tells the story of Marie, a rather sad little girl, whose godfather Drosselmeier gives her a Nutcracker doll as a present on Christmas Eve which turns into a prince and the magic begins! When midnight strikes, the world turns all magical in the wintry glitter of Christmas Eve. Toys come alive, the mouse-king and his mouse-army battle with the Nutcracker Prince and we travel through the Land of Snow to an enchanted place where the magic really begins!

I love the nutcracker and the storyline – it is such a beautiful Christmas story; a great way to get into the festive spirit! I have only ever seen Barbie & The Nutcracker so it was interesting for me to see how it is performed through the form of ballet.

This was such an amazing performance, I couldn’t peel my eyes away, even for a split second. The energy the dancers had was just phenomenal, I have never seen such angelic movements. I highly recommend going to watch this performance – if you are in need of some Christmas spirit or even just to watch the ballet!

Have you ever been to a ballet performance?

Until next time, Abbs xo
