Wet’N’Wild Photo Focus Foundation

Hello my loves and welcome back to the blog!

Wet'N'Wild Testing

Oh wow, another foundation review! This foundation review is on the Wet’N’Wild Photo Focus Foundation. Let me tell you this…. I have had this product sitting in my draw waiting to be used for weeks and I finally have done it!!! This foundation has literally changed my life. It is the best foundation I have used in a very long time. And, it is so affordable! This foundation retails for £5.99!! Only £5.99 for this foundation, ugh wet’n’wild you have a new customer.

Since I am trying to go 100% cruelty free, I was in need of a new everyday foundation; I was using the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless; this foundation was my holy grail for a very long time and so I was worried I would find a product that I would love as much. But, I was successful.

The Wet’N’Wild foundation is one of the best foundations I have tried; the colour, coverage, application is just great. The packaging is super simple which I really like; it isn’t too bulky or too heavy. I love the fact that this foundation has an applicator too, it makes it so much easier and it’s mess free! No more pumping or squeezing foundation onto your hand or a pallet. Just a simple dip into the foundation and apply straight on the face. Love love love!

The one thing I will say when testing this foundation is that it has a very potent smell; it smells like you’ve just opened up a tub of playdoh and poured in some neat vodka. It is a little intense which did worry me.. Once you start blending this foundation into your skin the smell does fade, it isn’t as intense which is good.

It has a slight runny consistency which I wasn’t expecting, it is no where near as runny as the Maybelline foundation but it is slightly runny… I didn’t prime my face on this day because I wanted to see how the foundation looked on my pores.

When applying this foundation I used the applicator which is attached to the lid. I applied this straight onto my face, doing 2 stripes on each cheek, a bit on my chin and a little on my nose. I used my wet sponge to blend this in and it blended like a dream. It didn’t emphasize any dry skin or breakout.

The coverage this foundation gives is a light base, this was only one small amount though and so I decided to add on a little more to give me more of a medium coverage finish. Applying a second layer didn’t make the foundation look cakey or thick; it applied just as smooth and looked just as good as the first layer. Once the second layer was all blended, I ended up with a glowy medium coverage. I loved it.

The foundation did feel a little tacky on my skin which is completely fine – this doesn’t bother me, it just meant I would have to lightly powder the foundation to get it to stay put. I put my concealer on the usual places (my under eyes, eye lids, nose and chin) and the concealer blended in easily; there was so need to have any hard pressure or blend for a while to get it to blend in with the foundation.

For powder I used my Maybelline Master Fix Loose powder. I applied this under my eyes, on my eye lids and took a large fluffy brush and lightly dusted this over my face. I don’t like using too much powder because my skin can end up looking cakey and thick; not a good look!

The foundation felt so soft to the touch once the powder was on and completely blended; it looked so smooth and almost airbrushed. I couldn’t believe the finish!!

Throughout the day this foundation wore so well; it did start to get oily on my forehead after around 7 to 8 hours of wear. This is usually the case for me as I do have oily skin. All I have to do is blot and it was back to normal! It still looked just as beautiful as the first application!

It left such a beautiful natural finish on my skin I was so impressed. This foundation has easily become my favourite one yet, I can see myself using this a lot!

Pros;

  • Buildable coverage
  • Natural finish (even after laying)
  • Glowy
  • Wearable & breathable
  • Feels like your own skin
  • Wears for a long time

Cons;

  • Smell

As you can see from the above list,t his foundation only has 1 con! I don’t think I have ever loved a foundation after first use before but this one is honestly so great. If I could recommend any product to you, it would be this! You guys have to try it – if you do, please let me know your thoughts!!
