Isle of Wight Adventure

Hello lovelies, I hope you are all well… First, I apologise for not uploading a post for a while; I have been away on my first trip of 2019!

I have been to the Isle of Wight with Kane and I had the best time away. We stayed in the cutest little yurt, it had a lovely hot tub to the side of the yurt that just made the evenings even better. In the yurt there was a circular window right at the top which allowed you to watch the stars whilst you lay in bed! Ugh, heaven. Isn’t it just the cutest?!

We did so much on our trip, I just had to talk about it. I don’t think I have ever felt so relaxed and comfortable on a trip; it was so beautiful. The views were just breath-taking and honestly felt so surreal. We were so lucky to have such fab weather as well, 25+ degrees everyday. (It did get super hot in the yurt so we ended up buying a fan to stop ourselves melting!)

On the day of our arrival, after a short ferry ride from Portsmouth, we headed for the beach. I love being at the beach, it is my happy place and I would love to live right by a sandy beach. We were so lucky to have this beautiful sunset on the first night – the sky turned bright red and the views we had were just insane. I mean, look at that view!

For our first full day, we decided to go to The Needles; if you haven’t heard of this, it is a row of three stacks of chalk that rise around 30m above the sea level.

It is such a huge attraction in the Isle of Wight, Kane and I couldn’t wait to check it out! There are loads of different little activities you can do at this attraction, one of them being the chairlift. This is pretty much a set of chairs that go up and down a cliff. It was terrifying – I am not afraid of heights at all but on this I was genuinely so scared, seeing that barefaced cliff below your feet just gives you the chills. But, you just have to do it if you get the chance, it is only £12 for two of you to go up and down the cliff and it is so worth it purely for the insane views of the ocean.

After the chairlift we decided to go on a boat ride, this was 100% the best part of our trip. The boat takes you around the cliffs and right up to the needles, so you can see them in person. We were so lucky with the weather, the sun shining down on the sea just showed off its amazing turquoise colour. I just wanted to jump straight into it!

We went to loads of beaches, every beach we could find, we stopped off and took thousands of photographs, walked along the shore and soaked up the sunshine. In the evenings, because it was still so warm, we spent as much time out as we could. Most evenings you would find us hand in hand strolling along the sea, dipping our toes into the cold water.

Our favourite seaside was Sandown. Wow, this beach is just breath-taking. It is a sandy beach and it has the largest pier I have ever seen. It is full of arcades, mini golf, casinos and of course, donut shops! I mean, can you really go to the beach without getting a hot sugary donut?! We spent far too much money in the arcades, but I don’t regret a thing! We went to this beach on our second and fourth day.

We visited Shanklin Chine, this was an interesting place that I don’t think we would visit again. You pay around £15 for the pair of you to go into a woodland. It is supposed to be an attraction for waterfalls. However, there was only one waterfall. The walk along the path was super cute though, I just loved these lamps! They reminded me of being in a scene in Narnia…

On our last day, Kane took me to a surprise location…. He wouldn’t tell me what we were doing or where we were going but I was so excited! We arrived at the location and it was a golf range! I was so ready to hit some golf balls as hard and as far as I could… turns out I’m not as good as I thought I would be. Most of the time I was just swinging this golf club around completely missing the ball! Oh well, we had such a laugh anyway!

And just like that, our adventure was coming to an end, we were lining up to board the ferry back to Portsmouth. (cries a thousand tears)

Isle of Wight was such an amazing trip away and I am so glad we went. If you are looking for a romantic weekend away with loads to do during the day, Isle of Wight is the place to go!
