As I work full time, I cherish my time in bed, that definitely means that I will do a simpler makeup look in order to stay in bed for a little while longer. Don’t get me wrong, I still do more than the bare minimum, but I like to keep it as simple as I can. Let’s dig in…
The first thing I do is my eyebrows, I use the NYX micro eyebrow pencil in espresso. I love this eyebrow pencil because it is so small that it can draw such a precise line. I start with lining the underneath of my brow, then creating a tail, drawing a line for the top half of my eyebrow – making sure I leave the front of my brow clear. Then fill it in, I then use light hair like strokes in the front of my brow to give the appearance of a fuller and natural look. I will then underline my eyebrow with some concealer to clean up any mistakes.
Next up is primer. My favourite primer at the moment is the NYX illuminating primer. I love this primer as it gives the most natural glow to the skin without making you look like the tin man! This primer doesn’t hide pores or add any coverage for redness, it is purely just for the glow.
For foundation I have recently been mixing my two favourites, the Maybelline Fit Me, Matte & Poreless in Light Beige (118) with the Estee Lauder Double Wear in the Shade Fresco. These two foundations mixed together gives the most beautiful finish. As they are both very matte foundations, the finish is obviously matte but adding the glowy primer under has given the foundation a little more of a dewy look. This combination gives a medium to full coverage which is my personal favourite. They are both very breathable foundations and don’t look cakey, to apply my foundation I use the Real Techniques Beauty Sponge.
For cream products I have been using this Loreal Paris Infallible shaping stick in the shade Cappuccino. I apply this on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. I then blend this out with the same beauty sponge. The concealer I use is the makeup revolution Conceal and Define concealer, this is AMAZING! By far, the best concealer I have ever tried. The coverage is incredible. I apply this in the center of my forehead, tip of my nose, chin and under my eyes. I also drag this over my eyelid to prime for any shadow. To set my concealer in place I use the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. As my foundations are super matte, I don’t feel the need to set my face – it naturally sets itself.
To set my cream bronzer in place I use the Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion in the shade Cinnamon. This is such a beautiful bronzer, it has little gold shimmers in it that add the perfect glow to your complexion. For blush, I have been using the Makeup Forever Blusher in the number 22, in all honestly, this isn’t anything special. It isn’t very pigmented – I wouldn’t purchase this again. For highlight, I LOVE the Mac Mineralised Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle. It is so GOOD! (as you can tell I have hit pan)
For my eyes I like to keep it simple, throw some bronzer through the crease – add a winged liner and some mascara and ta-dah you’re done! I will sometimes skip out on the eyeliner depending on what time I get up but if I do go for eyeliner, I use the Maybelline Master Ink liquid liner – I like this but it does smudge easily if not completely dry – you kinda have to sit there with your eye shut for a good 5 minutes!! For mascara it’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational… aka, the best mascara I have tried.
For lips, I keep it simple, just some lip balm – I don’t use any particular one, just whatever I fancy that day. I have got a couple of the EOS balms but don’t think they’re all that great…
And there we have it, my everyday makeup look. I will post a photo on the ‘gram of this look so you can see it on but honestly this takes me no longer than 30-45 minutes to do.
